Ching will work with Dynamo President Chris Canetti and fill both a back office manager and a director of football role with the new club as he will oversee both the business and technical sides of the club.
The move allows the hunt for a coach of the club to really begin with Ching and Canetti already beginning discussions on who should lead the club in their historic first season.
Canetti sees the appointment as a chance for Ching to begin a new side of his football career and an opportunity for the veteran striker to learn new skills and take the club forward.
Ching was planning on taking an extended break before picking up a back office job with the Dynamo by an arrangement he had made with Canetti before his retirement from playing.
The plan was originally for Ching to have a break from work until February when he would join the Dynamo back office, but with things moving so rapidly with the Dash that plan had to be abandoned for Ching to take this chance.
There is still a place at the Dynamo for one of their legends with Ching also being given a technical role with the men's club, although there's no official title for that role for Ching he will consult with Dominic Kinnear throughout the season, beginning with assisting at the MLS Combine beginning January 10th.
