Bria Kelly advances to The Voice playoffs

Bria Kelly, the veteran singer of America's Got Talent Season 7, has advanced to the playoffs on NBC's The Voice.

For Kelly's battle round (once again the closing performance of the night), she was chosen to compete against 16-year-old Madilyn Paige, whom Kelly noted had a strength of control that she felt she lacked. She was also cautioned by Usher not to rely on her very big voice.

Among three options given to them by Usher, Kelly and Paige chose to perform "I'll Stand By You" by the Pretenders, a song that once again seemed better suited to her opponent and which once again resulted in Kelly appearing to be deliberately holding back.

This may have reflected poorly upon her opponent, however, who gave the impression of trying to hit power chords but lacking the capacity to actually reach them.

The performance was considered underwhelming overall by the coaches, though both girls were commended for trying to get out of their comfort zones.

Kelly was once again chosen by Usher as the victor and will continue to compete for Team Usher in the playoff rounds. Paige, however, was stolen by Blake Shelton.

This is the second time Shelton has used his last steal on Bria Kelly's opponent. He's clearly been holding out to try to get Kelly, and Usher clearly knows it too.
