It's ingenious! You get to help shape the beers of one of the area's newest breweries. Maize Valley Winery, Brewery, & Market in Hartville is offering you a chance to taste their beers and give feedback. This is a special ticketed event that they will hold on "select Tuesdays" with the first one being tonight, July 1.
Tickets are $10.00 each and are limited. For your ticket, you will get four five-ounce samples of beer. It will be a random selection of whatever they are making that week so you never know what you are going to get. They will also have light appetizers available. In exchange, they just ask for your feedback about the beers. They say you do not need to be a beer expert, they just want to know what you like, what you don't, what do you usually drink, and other questions based on some criteria they provide.
You get to help shape the beers they are going to brew, and, as they say on their website, help "chart the course for Maize Valley Brewery." This first event may or may not be sold out, but as they learn and grow, they promise there will be more such events. To check for reservation availability, please call 330-877-8344.
Maize Valley recently showcased two of their brews at the Rhythm and Brews event at the Canton Cultural Center. They had an as yet unnamed pale ale and an amber. This was their first "public" offering of their beers and, although they didn't win best of show, they were respectable beers. I preferred the pale as I like hops, but both were good.
They are located at 6193 Edison Street NE (Rte 619) in Hartville, about one hour south of Cleveland, between Akron and Canton.
