Brevard Remembers 9/11

 This year marks the 10th anniversary of a dark day for our nation. Brevard Remembers 9/11 takes place on September 11, 2011 from 1pm till 2:30pm, with an expected crowd of 8,000 attendees.

Retired US Army Col. Danny McKnight will act as Master of Ceremonies for the events. Guest speakers will include, Tom Redmond, retired NYC police officer representing New York City police, fire and rescues. Tom Denni, who will speak from his experience as a first responder during the 9/11 attacks. Noel Sepulveda, a retired Air Force master sergeant and hero who rescued many people from the Pentagon after it was hit, and assisted in the evacuation of the building.

Other activates taking place at Brevard Remembers 9/11 are:

Moving Tribute: Panels listing the names of those killed during the terrorist attacks on America on September 11, 2001. Wreathes will be laid and a Color Guard will change though out the ceremonies.

Military Flyover by one of the four fighter units in Florida. They will fly over the Space Coast Stadium to signify the start of the memorial service.

Students of Brevard County School District will display essays and art dedicated to 9/11 events and the importance of freedom for all Americans.

Satellite Beach Marching Band will perform with a non-pyrotechnic fireworks display.

Boy Scout troop #720 from Rockledge will honor the American flag and give everyone in attendance a flag to take home.

Entry and parking are free to attend this event at the Space Coast Stadium.  The stadium is located at 5800 Stadium Parkway in Viera, Florida.
