Brent Weedman's coach, Eric Haycraft, confirmed tonight that Brent will indeed face Dan Hornbuckle in the first round of the Bellator Season 4 Welterweight Tournament at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, California on March 5. This contest will be the second meeting between Weedman and Hornbuckle. Dan Hornbuckle submitted Brent Weedman via triangle choke in the second round of their 2006 battle at Legends of Fighting Championship 12. Both fighters have come a long way since then but many people are still writing Weedman off in this tournament amidst names like Jay Hieron, Lyman Good, and Dan Hornbuckle.
The confimation of Weedman vs Hornbuckle rounds out the eight man Bellator Season 4 Welterweight Tournament. I will be meeting with Brent Weedman at an upcoming Team Haycraft fighter sparring session in Louisville for an exclusive interview. Please check back soon for Brent's take on the matchup, and what he thinks about getting the chance to avenge his loss to Dan Hornbuckle. I was able to catch up to Brent Weedman following his tournament qualifier victory over Jacob McClintock at Bellator 30 in Louisville back in September. "Weedman Nation" is surely rejoicing once again upon hearing this news.

Great stuff Chad. Way to break a story! I didn't know the location of the March 5th event, now I won't feel so guilty missing it and going to the Strikeforce in Columbus instead.
