Green will perform Notes from “Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then,” by sharing stories and tales that combine myths and facts.
Green, a self-taught animator, is from Cressona, Penn.
Doors will open at 5 p.m., and light refreshments and a cash bar will be available.
The deadline for light-inspired art submissions in this year’s InLight Richmond has been extended to midnight on Sunday, July 20.
InLight Richmond will be held in Monroe Park on Friday, Nov. 21.
“Ghosts” are haunting Ghostprint Gallery through Friday, August 29.
Full-time tattoo artist Gene Coffey's oil on canvas paintings in non-traditional, semi-abstract style are reminiscent of after images from a dream, according to a press release from the gallery.
Coffey takes his painting inspiration from graffiti, street artists, and Renaissance masters.
A summer group exhibition is heating up Page Bond Gallery also through Friday, Aug. 29 with “Scorch.”
The works of 12 artists are on display, including Chris Baer, Richmond’s Sayaka Suzuki and University of Richmond painting & drawing professor Erling Sjovold.
Suzuki was born in Japan, received her bachelor’s in glass from Tulane University, and her master’s of fine arts in craft/material studies from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Suzuki teaches glass casting at VCU.
Southern California-born Sjovold earned his bachelor’s of art from the University of California, Berkley and his master’s of fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
