Former San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Kwame Harris recently came out publicly saying he was a homosexual. Now there are four more that may come out together as gay NFL players per a report from NFL.com on Friday, April 5, 2013.
Brendon Ayanbadejo, formerly of the Balutmore Ravens, has admitted that his time in the NFL may be over, but he is standing up for something more important. He is highly against Prop 8 out in California, and is in support of gay NFL players coming out and letting everyone know about their sexuality.
He now states that four players may come out all together.
"I think it will happen sooner than you think," Ayanbadejo told The Baltimore Sun on Friday. "We're in talks with a handful of players who are considering it. There are up to four players being talked to right now and they're trying to be organized so they can come out on the same day together. It would make a major splash and take the pressure off one guy. It would be a monumental day if a handful or a few guys come out."
Monumental, indeed.
Ayanbadejo reiterated that an organization for the moment that four gay NFL players come out is incredibly real. It is an organization that would stand behind them and any other NFL players, or people in general, that wish to come out.
