Brenda Song spent New Year's Eve with her former boyfriend, Trace Cyrus. On January 1, Cyrus posted a picture on the social-networking website Instagram of Song with the caption ''Happy New Year!!! Make 2013 the best year of your life!''. The picture has led to rumors that the actress has rekindled her relationship with Cyrus, who is the lead singer of the band ''Ashland High''.
''The Social Network'' star dated Cyrus for one year and a half. She was engaged to him for nearly seven months after it was rumored that she was pregnant with his child.
In June 2012, Cyrus issued a press release explaining their break-up: ''Brenda and I have decided to go our separate ways. We split up a couple of months ago. We will continue to focus on our careers. I wish Brenda the best and much success in the future. I hope everyone can respect our privacy about this situation. Thanks so much.''
Song has been focusing on her career since the break-up. She was previously cast as one of the leads in NBC's ''Daddy's Girls'' pilot which did not get picked up for the fall season despite being a strong contender. She also appeared in Comedy Central's ''Key and Peele'' television show and starred in the award-winning short film, ''First Kiss''. She was most recently cast in ''New Girl'' and ''Scandal''.
