Brenda Song was recently thanked by her rumored boyfriend Trace Cyrus for giving him musical inspiration. On January 14 2013, Cyrus tweeted a long ''thank you'' note on Twitter, saying: ''Thank You Brenda Song for all the inspiration''. He also thanked his mother Tish and siblings Brandi, Miley, Braison and Noah.
''The Social Network'' star spent New Year's Eve with Cyrus, prompting rumors that they are back together. She dated Cyrus for one year and a half and was engaged to him for six months after it was rumored that she was pregnant with his child.
In June 2012, Cyrus issued a press release explaining their break-up: ''Brenda and I have decided to go our separate ways. We split up a couple of months ago. We will continue to focus on our careers. I wish Brenda the best and much success in the future. I hope everyone can respect our privacy about this situation. Thanks so much.''
Song has been focusing on her career since the break-up. She was previously cast as one of the leads in NBC's ''Daddy's Girls'' pilot which did not get picked up for the fall season despite being a strong contender. She also appeared in Comedy Central's ''Key and Peele'' television show and starred in the award-winning short film, ''First Kiss''. She was most recently cast in ''New Girl'' and ''Scandal''.
