Breitbart sparks 'Cruz at Hannity' tweet: 'Texas would be happy to have you'

On Monday, Texas Senator Ted Cruz rolled out the Lone Star "welcome wagon" to Fox News' Sean Hannity, tweeting, "Texas would be happy to have you." Cruz' social engine invitation included an "at Breitbart" nod and link to a Breitbart article published also on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 which quoted Hannity, a native New Yorker, saying he was ready to relocate from his home state to a better economical and cultural climate.

This excerpt from Sean's rant reveals Texas is a state he might consider; however, Hannity is a fisherman and he's seriously considering testing Florida's waters:

I can’t wait to get out of here. I really can’t. I don’t want to pay their10-percent state tax anymore. I live in the second-highest property taxed county in the entire country in Nassau County. I can’t wait to sell my house to somebody who wants it. I can’t wait to pay no state income tax down in Florida or Texas. I haven’t decided yet, but I’m leaning Florida because I like the water and I like to fish.

Sean announced his decision last week, following a radio interview made by Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) in which the governor disowned "extreme conservatives," explaining:

Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.

Cruz didn't mention that Texas property taxes are notoriously high; however, Hannity is aware that Texas does not have a state income tax. Nor did Cruz tout the many beautiful fishing lakes and coasts boasted by Texas, or the hunting possibilities. There was no way, in 140 characters or less, that Cruz could promote Texas the way Sarah Palin promotes Alaska. In Texas, that's one of Governor Rick Perry's job.

Thus far the list of conservative mouthpieces, such as Hannity, who have relocated from New York include Rush Limbaugh to Florida and Glenn Beck to Texas. In either state, Hannity's neighbors may be allies as well as competitors.
