June 25th The Breezeway Café opened its doors in the Renaissance Building, on Donnelly Street in historic Mt. Dora, Florida.
Upon entering the café customers were recommending the day’s lunch special, pulled pork (chicken or beef) sandwiches. We took their advice and weren’t disappointed. The sandwich was excellent, the meat tender and well seasoned.
The rest of the café’s menu consists of breakfast and lunch with a soup of the day. Don’t forget dessert there are fresh baked cookies and more to tempt the taste buds. All the bread served in the café are baked fresh daily by the owner Scott McGraw.
If that name sounds familiar to Lake and Orange County residents that’s because the Breezeway Café isn’t Scott’s first foray into the restaurant business. Scott and his wife Lisa own the Shred-A-Bowls food trucks.
They are well known in Central Florida for their unique sandwiches and meals served in bread buckets or cyclones. Fresh baked bowls and cones that are stuffed with “Shredded Italian Garlic Beef, Spanish Mojo Shredded Pork, and Cajun Shredded Beer Can Chicken topped with one of our Home Made Slaw's or Salsa's to garnish and a drizzled with one of our Home Made Remoulades, Aioli's, or Dijonnaise.”
The Breezeway Café is a great place to take the family for fresh food with a home-style taste that’s affordable as well as delicious.
The café is open Monday thru Friday 6:30am to 6:30pm. Friday and Saturday night make reservations for special Chef Table Dining. The Breezeway Café also offers catering and party platters.
