Breaking: Whitney Houston dies, aged just 48

Breaking news is coming in to San Francisco that singer, Whitney Houston, has died.

"I am so sad to hear this. I loved her music and she was such a beautiful woman," says San Francisco resident, Laney Davies.

The superstar was queen of the music scene until her voice and "perfect" image were ruined by drug use, behavior that caused some fans to demand their money back at her concerts, and a marriage to music star Bobby Brown that went wrong.

At one point Whitney Houston claimed that Bobby Brown had assaulted her. She also became famous for saying she never smoked crack. She said she earned too much money to waste it on crack cocaine.  She said, "Crack is whack."

Houston was 48 when she died.
