According to the White House, 6 million people have now signed up for private health care insurance under "Obamacare," hitting a goal previously set by the Obama administration. With the initial deadline of March 31 just days away, President Obama made a huge push for enrollment with the help of star athletes and friends from Hollywood.

Despite a rocky roll-out, the law's website, healthcare.gov, Reuters reports that the website has received major traffic over the last weekend and has held up well.

"On Wednesday, there were more than 1.5 million visits to HealthCare.gov, the website used to sign up for insurance in 36 states, and call centers received more than 430,000 calls, the White House said.

Tuesday and Wednesday also saw more than 1 million visits to the website and more than 350,000 calls to call centers, according to posts on Twitter by HealthCare.gov."

The White House has also announced that those who have started an application to apply for healthcare through the exchange, will get an extension from the current March 31st deadline to April 1st.
