Today hours ago, according to CBS news, there has been multiple stabbings and victims at a western Pennsylvania high school. According to CBS news,,” Police and paramedics are on the scene of a stabbing at Franklin Regional High School in Murrysville. “According to new information 7 students have been taken to local hospitals with slashing type injuries and that the suspect is in custody. He suspect is reportedly a student at the school. Reporting from the scene, “KDKA’s Heather Abraham is at Forbes Hospital where they say a total of 7 victims are expected. Forbes also says 2 other victims have been taken to other hospitals, and there could be as many as 10 total victims.” According to a witness, the stabbings happened in the science wing of the building.

According to the website for Franklin Regional High School, the district posted,” A critical incident has occurred at the high school. All elementary schools are cancelled, the middle school and high school students are secure. Additional information will be released as soon as possible. Please keep our campus clear of traffic.” A message that is posted by Principal Mr. Ron Suvak from the beginning of the school year,” FRHS should be a place where all persons feel safe, valued and respected. I anticipate and expect that your actions – each day – will do nothing but increase the level of safety, value and respect that each of us feels here at the HS.”

The school districts website details the school district as “The Franklin Regional School District serves the communities of Export, Murrysville and portions of Delmont. It is located approximately twenty miles East of Pittsburgh. With over 3,700 students and nearly 400 staff members, the district operates three Elementary schools (Heritage, Newlonsburg, and Sloan), a Middle School, and a Senior High School.”
