The 15th season of Comedy Central's South Park-- perhaps the all-around funniest show that's ever aired on that network-- is quickly approaching: this Wednesday night, the madness begins again. Comedy Central's ad campaign for this season has centered around the idea that the network has no idea what South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have up their sleeves this year, but...we do. Find out what's happening on the season premiere of South Park below, my gentle Examiner readers...
Like many others, we at Comedy Examiner HQ believe that South Park hardly ever gets the credit that it's due: the show's far more clever and intelligent than people who've never watched South Park believe it to be, and when it comes to social commentary, almost no one does it better. As such, we believe a new season of South Park is something to get excited about. A new season of South Park starting this Wednesday, on the other hand, is something worth peeing one's pants in excitement over.
For the past few weeks, Comedy Central's been running ads for the new season that center around the idea that Comedy Central has no idea what the South Park guys are going to do (the ads say: "We get the episodes, like, a few hours before they air"). That's basically true-- Trey Parker and Matt Stone have a lightning-quick production schedule, one designed to let them take on the most pressing social issues with a speed that most shows could never hope to match-- but we suspect that Comedy Central knows damn well what's going on in the season premiere. We suspect this because they just sent us a press release saying as much.
Here's what we can expect on the 15th season premiere of South Park:
The latest Apple product to hit the market is revealed in the 15th season premiere of "South Park" titled, "HUMANCENTiPAD,” premiering on Wednesday, April 27 at 10:00 p.m. on COMEDY CENTRAL. Kyle is intimately involved in the development of a revolutionary new product that is about to be launched by Apple. Meanwhile, Cartman doesn’t even have a regular iPad yet. He blames his mother.
So, what does this tell us? That South Park is taking on the iPad, and-- based on that title-- that there's going to be some Human Centipede-related awesomeness on offer, as well (and if you're not familiar with The Human Centipede, allow me to direct you to THIS review and THIS interview we conducted a few months back; you're welcome). If you weren't already excited for the 15th season premiere, this oughtta do it.
