Country music singer Mindy McCready has been found dead according to what her brother confirmed to Daily News on Feb. 17. The 37-year-old singer evidently shot and killed herself Sunday evening at her Heber Springs, Ark. home. It has been a very difficult month for McCready, and now her life has ended way too soon.
McCready has supposedly fought her mental health and alcohol issues in recent months. She checked herself into an inpatient rehab facility two weeks ago after her boyfriend, David Wilson, had died. Wilson's death was originally reported to be a suicide, but the Cleburne County, Ark. sheriff's office have opened an investigation into his death. McCready has two young sons.
McCready had denied any involvement with Wilson's death, but authorities still took her two children, Zander, 6 and Zayne 9-months-old from her home. A source close to Mindy at the time told E! News:
"Mindy needs to get help and we all care and love her and we want her to get the right help, so she can move on. She is in a bad state right now, depressed and unhappy. It is not good."
That was when Mindy determined it was time to get help and agreed to enter an in-patient facility for treatment.
According to court documents, her father stated at the time:
"Since boyfriend (David Wilson) shot himself she has been in bed for 3 wks. Sleeps all day. Drinks all night and is taking Rx drugs. Not bathing or even helping take care of her 2 children."
However, she was released two days later to undergo outpatient treatment. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.
