Lancaster City Police are looking for Sheralym Mercado, 15, who went missing and may be endangered. Police received information Monday morning that a Lancaster man, identified as 24 year old Alexander Ramos-Pacheco, engaged the teen in an online relationship. Ramos-Pacheco, according to LCP Officer Jeffrey Gerhart, may have traveled to Chicago to pick up the teen and brought her back to the Lancaster City area sometime between April 3rd and April 6th. Police believe she may be in danger.
The Special Investigations Unit has assumed the investigation. Yesterday, LCP confirmed identities of the two. Detectives confirmed that the teen was reported missing by the Chicago Police Department on 2 April and was in fact with Ramos-Pacheco.
Sheralym Mercado is a Hispanic teen. She is described as being 5'5" and 120 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair. She also goes by Sherry Mercado Segarra. She was last seen wearing a yellow/green Ecko United jacket, blue jeans, pink and white shoes.
LCP are in possession of one of Pacheco’s vehicles. Several people have confirmed to LCP officers that they have seen him with the 15 year old girl over the past few days. Pacheco may be driving the following vehicle: 2000 Ford Windstar with a Pennsylvania plate HZT-4646.
“Pacheco has expressed his dislike of and made threats against law enforcement to other people, which causes us additional concern for the safety of the girl,” according to LCP.
The Lancaster City Police have not been able to locate Pacheco or the missing girl.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ramos-Pacheco is asked to contact Lancaster City Police at 717-735-3300.
