Harvard University has evacuated four buildings and exams have been cancelled. At 9:02 a.m. ET the University posted on the school website an order to evacuate the Science Center, Thayer, Sever, and Emerson due to unconfirmed reports of explosives. Harvard Alert-HUPD and CPD are investigating the scene.
There have not been any explosions reported, according to CNN. The network has also reported that the FBI is on site and the concern is that the phoned in report is a hoax.
Thayer Hall is a dormitory while the other three buildings are academic buildings. Students have been evacuated to Annenberg Hall during the investigation.
The Ivy League’s daily newspaper, The Harvard Crimson, is tweeting at @thecrimson. The school is tweeting at @Harvard. According to the Crimson, students cheered and applauded when Dean of Undergraduate Ed. Jay Harris announced that final exams for this morning have been canceled.
