Happy breaking news...all three dogs have been adopted from Devore Animal Control.
According to Doug Smith, Supervising Animal Control Office at Devore, all three dogs, Marley, Bonnie and Rocky are safe and have been adopted!
There were a few errors in the original story. Here is Mr. Smith's official statement:
" If you would, please update your story. The dogs were not in any danger of being euthanized as they were only relinquished by the owner on Monday. The owner sadly had no choice but to relinquish them as she was unable to provide housing or care for the animals due to injuries she sustained in the incident.
I don’t know who started the statement that the dogs only had thru today, but that information was incorrect. We were working with several rescue groups to get them adopted and placed in forever homes.
Just so you are aware, all three have been adopted. Two were adopted by a rescue and one was adopted by a private person."
These three dogs can only be adopted by a rescue organization and they only have through today, Thursday, April 21, 2011.
Marley, Bonnie and Rocky are all three wonderful dogs and don’t deserve to die.
They were family pets. The father, according to the LA Times, “tortured his family before his killing 16-year-old son and wounding his wife and four other children.”
The three pets were held until the investigation was completed and then placed in a high kill animal control facility.
Marley and Rocky are only puppies, about 8 months old and Bonnie is only a year old.
These dogs have all been temperament tested and are very friendly.
Please step forward to save these dogs who have been victimized by seeing their beloved companions brutally murdered. To kill these three innocent pups would be unforgivable.
