Multiple police agencies are looking for the shooter of 1 possibly 2 policemen. They are concentrating on the areas of Riverside Boulevard, Cirby Way and Vernon Street. The one officer confirmed down is an ICE agent.Virginia Kice of ICE made the following announcement:
A special agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) was shot Friday afternoon shortly after 3 p.m. while conducting a joint enforcement action with investigators from the police department in Roseville, Calif. The special agent was rushed to a local hospital where he is now reported to be stable and alert. Additional HSI agents are en route to the incident scene and will be assisting the Roseville Police Department with the ongoing investigation.
She did not say what the nature of the enforcement was.
Later, at 5:10 (8:10EST) shots were heard in the neighborhood of Riverside Boulevard and Darling Way. There were numerous agents there with guns drawn and the Roseville & Granite Bay Press Tribune reports a second officer was shot, but that has not yet been confirmed.
Residents have been urged to stay inside, while police look for the subject, who is described as an Hispanic, wearing a grey short sleeved shirt, and dark colored beanie.
The first reports of gunfire were at 3:10 Friday afternoon.
