A CH-53 helicopter crash in Afghanistan has left six U.S. Marines dead.
Initial reports stated that six ISAF members were killed when a helicopter went down in Helmand Province yesterday about midnight local time. The deceased have since been identified as U.S. Marines.
The cause of the incident is under investigation, since there was no reported enemy activity in the area at the time of the crash.
The Department of Defense has not released the names of the Marines at this time. It is not known if the Marines were based at Camp Leatherneck in Helmand Province.
