This week's Entertainment Weekly Fall Movie Preview issue features The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart on the set as Edward and Bella Cullen, and in the feature director Bill Condon speaks out on his perspective of what's been going on between the two.
In a nutshell, Kristen Stewart - who'd barely ever publicly acknowledged her relationship with Robert Pattinson - was photographed in a romantic entanglement with Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, who just so happens to have two children with his wife, actress Liberty Ross who portrayed Stewart's character's mother in the film. After the story went public, Kristen Stewart then issued a formal apology to Pattinson, confirming the veracity of the situation and, finally, the fact that she and Pattinson were together and in love in the first place.
A lot has since been said about the two of them, but Bill Condon thinks that enough's enough. Speaking to EW, he said the following:
“The fact is, these are actors playing parts, and maybe it’s not such a bad thing that people be reminded of that ... Both of these actors gave heart and soul to the Twilight movies, not only during shooting, but also by navigating so graciously the whole life-in-a-fishbowl aspect of the phenomenon. Above all they have always shown great respect for the fans who made these movies such a success. Now it’s time that some of that respect be returned to them.”
Thoughts on Condon's remarks?
