A good way to reach Hollywood stardom is to get cast on a TV show first. This is what many actors have done, and after their TV show hits success, movie role offers begin to arrive. On Monday, Jan. 21, TV Over Mind released the next five actors that will breakout from TV to film.
The first is Idris Elba, who gained popularity for his role as Stringer Bell in “The Wire.” Since then he has appeared in small roles in films like “Thor,” “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance,” and “Prometheus.” Recently, Guillermo del Toro has cast him as the lead in “Pacific Rim.” Rumors also say that he might be the next James Bond.
Benedict Cumberbatch is also on the list for his work in the TV show “Sherlock Holmes.” Cumberbatch has several projects lined up, including “Absolutely Anything,” “The Hobbit: There and Back Again,” “Twelve Years a Slave,” and more. The star is also rumored for the villain role in “Star Trek Into Darkness.”
With “Breaking Bad” being one of the greatest shows on television, it’s no surprise that Aaron Paul made it to the list. Paul has won and been nominated for many awards for his portrayal of Jesse Pinkman. Aaron Paul is attached to the following films: “Need for Speed,” “A Long Way Down,” and “Decoding Annie Parker.”
Charlie Hunnam’s success won’t stop in “Sons of Anarchy,” the star has two film projects lined up. The first is “Crimson Peak,” not much is known about production yet. Hunnam is also set to star alongside Idris Elba in “Pacific Rim.”
Last but not least, is the only woman on the list, Blake Lively. Fans have already seen the star on the big screen in “Green Lantern” and “Savages,” but neither film did much for her. Still, the “Gossip Girl” star is rumored to be starring in an untitled romantic comedy soon.
