Last weekend the series finale of "Breaking Bad" left fans reeling. It is rare that a series ends with the death of the main character. The show was filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico and it had a huge fan base in that city. According to the Huffington Post October 4, 2013 the Albuquerque Journal published an obituary to remember the fictional character's life. You can read the obituary below.
"Walter White aka "Heisenberg", 52 of Albuquerque, died Sunday after a long battle with lung cancer and a gun shot wound. A co-founder of Gray Matter, White was a research chemist who taught high school chemistry and later founded a meth manufacturing empire. He is survived by his wife Skyler Lambert, son Walter "Flynn" Jr.; and daughter Holly. A private memorial was held by his family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a drug abuse prevention charity of your choice. He will be greatly missed.
It was fitting that the obituary said to send donations to drug abuse prevention charities. It also seemed a fitting send off from the city that embraced the show's presence for years. We have to wonder if there will be another drama filmed in the New Mexico area to replace the AMC drama.
