Apple releases a new update to iOS 6
According to a January 28 report in CNN, a new Apple iOS update is now available. This first major update to iOS 6 is called 6.1 and is a free download.
Version 6.1 of iOS adds LTE support for 36 more iPhone and 23 more iPad carriers around the world so more users can take advantage of the blazing speed of LTE for faster Safari web browsing, FaceTime video calls as well as iTunes and App Store downloads.
Besides adding LTE support to new markets and fixing some bugs, this Apple iOS update has these new features for those of us in the United States:
You can now use Siri to buy movie tickets through Fandango. Just tell Siri to find a certain movie or ask it for local theaters and Siri will then give you the option to “Buy Tickets”. If you choose this option, Siri then launches the Fandango app. Once purchased, you can put your tickets in Passbook. How cool is that!
If you use Apple Maps and you find a problem, it is now very easy to report it. Apple moved the Report a Problem button above the Drop Pin and Print buttons that you see when you lift the curled page.
Users of iTunes match can now download individual songs from iCloud.
