In my first article about breakfast, I point out that eating early in the day is repulsive for some people. Eating at the crack of dawn when your body isn't really hungry means you are ignoring your natural rhythms. Eating a small meal or snack a few hours after waking will supply the body with energy for before lunch. Traditional breakfasts are very heavy. A breakfast high in grains slows the brain so less is better. Fresh fruit is more desirable to provide living enzymes and hydration.
In fact, the first thing anyone should do upon waking is to rehydrate with a glass of room temperature water. Lick a tiny dash of sea salt off your hand first so your body is ready to absorb the water. The body is still finishing assimilation of yesterday's meals and a great deal of water used for this process needs to be replaced.
The morning coffee does not rehydrate a body that is already in a needy state after a night of slumber. The caffeine in coffee is a diuretic making you lose even more water. Decaffeinated coffee is a topic all its own for a future article. The basic fast is, water is crucial for life and other drinks are inferior.
Start your day with one glass of water and see how much better you can feel.
