Break through to God’s Word

A Daily Word from the Word for Wednesday, May 7, 2014

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” – John 16:13

There is a dramatic difference between a Word of the Lord and a Word from the Lord. The Word of the Lord is contained within His book—the Bible. To experience the Living Spirit of the Father, we must feast on His Word, the outer shell, and break through into its inner center, which is filled with His rich Essence.

Jesus was broken on the Cross of Calvary, so that God’s Holy Spirit could break through and come forth onto the earth, into us, and operate in every area of our lives. To be satisfied with a Word of the Lord is to miss an even richer, more intimate, and deeper life-transforming experience and relationship with God Almighty. We must never be satisfied with ever having enough of the Father. We must be like the psalmist who testifies “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God” (Psalm 42:1-2). It is by God’s Holy Spirit that the Word of the Lord becomes a living, active and right-now Word from the Lord, personalized for each and every one of His sons and daughters.

The Greek word for “truth” as used here is aletheia (pr. al-ay-thi-a), which means “verity, true (as not concealing)” (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance). According to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, “verity” is “the quality or state of being true or real, a fundamental and inevitably true value.” Our flesh and soul conceal the truth of God’s Word from coming into our spirit; but God, by His Holy Spirit, will reveal that which has been concealed. When we read God’s Word, we must ask His Spirit of Truth to crack open for us, the rich inner Truth contained within its message. The Ancient of Days proclaims “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3).

God’s Holy Spirit will come; He will erchomai (pr. er-khom-ahee), which is “to come or go, accompany, bring, grow, light.” Whenever you see the suffix “ai” (pr. ahee) at the end of a Greek Word, such as here, it means that it is a progressive Word, a right-now, living, and active Word that is still operating for each individual today. The Spirit of the Living God is actively on the earth, and in every believer, going to and fro, back and forth, among the earth and between Heaven and earth speaking and revealing the truths of the Father to all who beckon Him to come.

Holy Spirit “speaks” to us, which is laleo (pr. lal-eh-o), and means “to talk, utter words, preach, say, tell.” The word “utter” is a very powerful term, because it means “carried to the utmost point or highest degree.” The Spirit of God doesn’t just testify of any truth, but He speaks to the heart or point of the ultimate Truth of God; and reveals, to the highest degree or greatest extent that each of us can handle, the character of the One who is our Yesterday, Today, and Forever. The Apostle Paul’s words reverberate from the highest mountaintop that “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together” (Romans 8:16-17).

God’s Spirit of Truth “tells” us (anaggello, pr. an-ang-el-lo); which is “to announce (in detail), declare, rehearse, report, show, speak, tell.” Webster defines “rehearse” as “to recount in order to discuss.” God’s Holy Spirit was there, in the beginning, when God spoke into you your plan, purpose, and identity before He formed you, knitted you together, and placed you in your mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5).

Do you want to know who God called you to be, my brother? Are you yearning to find your place and purpose, my sister? Then break through God’s Word, into His Inner Witness, and allow The Spirit of Truth to take you back to the place where it all started—the place, in the beginning, where your Daddy held your spirit in the palm of His Mighty Hand and spoke you into existence.

Father, thank You for Your Most Holy Spirit. Thank You, for Your Spirit of Truth Who lives within us. Help us and teach us to be much more sensitive to the leading and utterances of Your Holy Spirit. We call to You: “Holy Spirit, come, and reveal the truths of the Father to us. Breathe on us, Living Spirit of God, breathe on us.” In Jesus Name, we thank You that we now experience your Word, not just of You, but from You. Amen and Amen.

Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to seek God’s Holy Spirit to shine His light on God’s Word every time you read it. Purpose in your heart and determine in your mind to feast on the Creator’s Word morning, noon, and night, and to break through to its center, by God’s Holy Spirit. And continue to fight the good fight of walking in and by the Father’s Spirit of Truth; for God, your “In The Beginning,” has already given you the victory!

If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!

God tells us that we are blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). Be a blessing to someone by sending them this word of encouragement. If God did not already put someone in your spirit and on your heart that needs to read this uplifting message from above, simply ask your Heavenly Father who to bless on today. Forward this message right now by email, facebook, or twitter.

Jesus is coming soon!

May God Bless you and keep you always.

With warmest regards,

And, in service of The Most High King,

Matthew
