Break for the Caribbean

With spring just around the corner, there’s really only one thing on the mind of every student—Spring Break of course.  Most want to head south for some fun in the sun in Mexico, the Caribbean, or even Central and South America. Choosing a Spring Break destination is dependent on many factors, including what kind of atmosphere you might want, where you’d like to stay, if you’re a thrill seeker or just dying for a little relaxation.  Most likely, though, the most important factor involved in your choice is the price. Here are just a few of the least costly and most appealing Spring Break destinations that the Caribbean has to offer.

The Bahamas are one of the most beautiful and affordable vacation spots in the Caribbean. They offer great nightlife and beach parties, as well as fairly inexpensive accommodations. Even the all-inclusive resorts in the Bahamas often have special promotions, especially around Spring Break. Puerto Rico is another lesser known Spring Break destination that also has very affordable accommodations as well as fairly inexpensive flights from most eastern U.S. cities. The waters are clear and blue and the beaches pristine in Puerto Rico, nicknamed the Island of Enchantment.

Jamaica, one of the most renowned Caribbean party destinations, is yet another island that is very accessible and affordable to travel to and also offers reasonably priced lodgings. Seven Mile Beach in Negril has been called one of the world’s most beautiful beaches and the scenery includes lush rainforest with cascading waterfalls, as well as spectacular sunsets along the coastline.  The Jamaican people are both laid-back and love to party, an attitude which is quickly adopted by tourists.

Cancun, Mexico and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic are two other popular and affordable spring break destinations in the Caribbean. Cancun has long been celebrated as the ultimate Spring Break party destination. The beaches are stunning, the water is blue, and the nightlife is spectacular. There are quite a few all-inclusive hotels that offer cheaper rates, thus making your vacation much more cost effective. Punta Cana has more recently increased in popularity as a top Spring Break destination due to its unspoiled beaches, thriving nightlife, and a large variety of affordable all-inclusive resorts along the coast.

Any one of these Caribbean destinations offers travelers spectacular beaches, sensational nightlife, and inexpensive accommodations so that you can make the most of your Spring Break.
