Bread for the City gearing up to help families for the Holiday

Bread for the City is just 7 days away from the start of their annual Holiday Helpings program.  The program is geared toward feeding low income families in the Washington D.C. area.  Just like other families, the clients of Bread for the City deserve to sit down to happy, healthy holiday dinner.  Holiday Helpings provides the makings of a complete dinner, including a turkey with all the trimmings.

The goal of Bread for the City and their Holiday Helping program is to host 25 food drives to feed over 9000 families in the area.  In order to reach their goal, the organization is appealing to the organizations and companies within the Washington D.C. metro area.  There are currently 17 food drives set up and with just 7 days left, the organization hopes to hit their goal of 25 drives to collect food throughout the area.  If you or your organization would like to host a Holiday Helpings Food Drive, contact Emily Schneider at (202)480-8908 or click here to e-mail her for additional details and to get a Holiday Helpings Kit.
