The Brazilian Summer Festival brings the heat and energy of Rio, Bahia and the Northeast of Brazil to Los Angeles, with the eclectic sounds of Afro-Brazilian band BatukAxe with special guests Batala L.A., performing songs fused with Reggae, Brazilian and Latin influences, and the band MÔFO performing traditional forro style music. The Summer Festival lineup also includes: DJ Chris Brazil & DJ Potira spinning Brazilian dance hits, the powerful drumming of Samba Da Mudança Samba School and the intoxicating dance of Raiz Brazil and Samba and More Samba Dancers.

The Brazilian Summer Festival made its debut at the Ford Amphitheatre in 1994, the year of the FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles. Now, 21 years later, Brazilian Nites Productions continues the celebration of the World Cup on the opening weekend of the World Cup in Brazil. Guests are invited to wear their Brazilian colors and fully experience the Ford’s beautiful outdoor atmosphere by bringing a meal or a bottle of wine and enjoying a picnic in this “hidden gem” of live entertainment in the Hollywood Hills.

Samba-Style Soccer: Brazil is known for its one of a kind style of soccer, known as “samba-style.” This extraordinary technique is characterized by skillful and free-flowing moves, executed with a flamboyance, speed and creativity in footwork that resembles the samba dance. The music of the Brazilian Summer Festival bands and the energizing steps of Raiz Brasil and Samba and More Samba Dancers work to reflect the spirit of Brazilian soccer culture, during this special year of the World Cup.

Brazilian Nites Productions has been successfully organizing events since its inception, bringing people of different ages and nationalities together to experience the allure and character of Brazilian culture. The company produces several shows each year, including two annual events: the Brazilian Summer Festival at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre and L.A.’s largest Brazilian Carnaval on the West Coast in February.
