More and more people are finding that they need food stamps as they are over employed and under paid and can't afford to care for their families. Jan. 24 CBS Chicago reports that a brawl broke out in a line for food stamps at a local office in E. Illinois. The fight over a position in line was caught on tape by another person waiting and posted to YouTube but the video has since been removed by the poster.
The video, which is no longer available showed two women grabbing at each other, while a third woman punches one of the two fighting in the back of the head. At another point in the video, there is another woman, not involved in the fight, walks across the office and punches another in the face.
It took several minutes for security guards to neutralize the situation and restore order to the Human Services office. Some of the ladies involved in the fight initially refused to leave, but the situation has been resolved. There is no news as to whether the women were allowed to receive services or if there was a penalty or charges filed against anyone involved.
Are you surprised to hear that there was a food stamp line brawl?
