On April 29, TV By the Numbers and Bravo announced the premiere dates for two brand new reality series for the summer season in 2014. The first stars Kandi Burruss from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” The second is a new show in the “Million Dollar Listing” franchise, based this time in Miami, Florida’s hottest real estate market. While both new shows feature different characters, both will follow the proven Bravo recipe for success: Find interesting stars and throw in as much drama as humanly possible.
As posted by Us Weekly, Kandi Burruss is following in the footsteps of fellow “Housewives” Bethenny Frankel, Kim Zolciak, NeNe Leakes and Tamra Barney. All four women have had their wedding ceremonies aired to the masses on Bravo. Burruss, who was married on April 4, allowed the cameras to follow her during the planning phases of her African-themed wedding. In a preview that was released to the public on Tuesday, Bravo reveals that there’s plenty of drama woven in with Mama Joyce and her vocal objections to the happy day. When Todd Tucker’s (Kandi’s fiancé) own mother arrives on the scene, she stands up to Mama Joyce in a big, Bravo way, adding even more controversy to the series.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi’s Wedding” premieres at 8 p.m. EST and PST on Sunday, June 1 on Bravo. To watch a preview, head to Bravo TV. In the meantime, part three of the reunion special airs on Sunday, May 4.
First came Los Angeles in 2006, followed by New York in 2012 . Here comes the third installment of the “Million Dollar Listing” franchise and this time around, it’s set in Miami, Florida’s playground for the rich and famous. As in previous shows, “Million Dollar Listing: Miami” focuses on three luxury real estate agents and their hard-to-please clients. Miami’s hottest realtors (Chris Leavitt, Samantha DeBianchi and Chad Carroll) will do battle in sunny Miami to sell high-end real estate in the surging Miami market, where the mansions are bigger and the high rises are taller.
“Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles” and “Million Dollar Listing: New York” have both been ratings hits for Bravo, so the network is hoping to repeat the pattern. According to The Real Deal, agents in South Florida are making huge commissions because of a surging market and record sale prices. A Bravo spokesperson added, “Business can get heated as the brokers attempt to make a name for themselves and outshine the competition by landing the next listing.”
“Million Dollar Listing: Miami” premieres at 9 p.m. EST and PST on Wednesday, June 25 on Bravo. For a sneak peek at the new Miami version, head to Bravo TV. In the meantime, new episodes of “Million Dollar Listing: New York” starring Fredrik Eklund, Luis Ortiz and Ryan Serhant, air at 9 p.m. EST (8 p.m. CST) on Wednesday nights on Bravo.
