'Bravo Bravo!' annual gala comes to Detroit Opera House this Friday

Where will you be this Friday? Final preparations are underway for BravoBravo! 2014: Escape the Everyday - A Cultural Experience, presented by the Chrysler brand, at the Detroit Opera House (1526 Broadway, Detroit) on Friday, June 6, from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

The annual fundraiser and fabulous Detroit gala will be hosted by Jay Towers of Fox 2 WJBK and FRESH 100.3, and feature main stage entertainment by La Dolce Vita, DJ Stacey "Hottwaxx" Hale featuring Nyumba Muziki LIVE, and DJ Matt Aubrey and TOnE'.

As a brand that’s gone on record in support of Detroit and its unique ethos, it makes sense that Chrysler is the title sponsor of the event. "The Chrysler brand stands committed to supporting Detroit's rich legacy as a world class contributor to music and the arts through great partnerships such as our alliance with the Detroit Opera House," said Al Gardner, President and CEO - Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "BravoBravo! provides music lovers with the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable evening and give back to one of the cultural cornerstones that makes this city so great." The event is also supported through the sponsorship of many other community-minded businesses.

Now in its 15th year, BravoBravo! honors the city while inviting guests to escape to a sophisticated evening celebrating diverse world cultures through food, drinks, music and dancing. Three of Detroit's most involved young professionals co-chair the event: Megan Davis, Olga Gamburg and William Robinson. ,

Entertainment for the BravoBravo! 2014 event includes:

  • Main Stage: DJ Stacey "Hotwaxx" Hale featuring Nyumba Muziki LIVE; La Dolce Vita; Matt Aubrey & TOnE'
  • Under the Stars: Paxahau Events presents DJ Ryan Richards & DJ Thornstryker
  • Cadillac Café: M!X Bricktown presents LOVE -n- BOOGIE
  • GDC Lounge: Sean Blackman's In Transit
  • Entrance Tent: Kendra Ray Belly Dance Entertainment

The event is expected to sell out. Tickets start at $115 and, if still available, can be reserved through the Detroit Opera House box office, by phone at (313) 237-SING, or online. Note that all attendees must be 21 or older and that proper attire is required.

Parking around the Detroit Opera House during BravoBravo! will be extremely limited. Note that there is a Tiger game that evening. Free parking for BravoBravo! guests will be available on the ninth floor of the MGM Grand Detroit parking structure. Free shuttles to and from the Opera House will run from 6 p.m. through 1:30 a.m., leaving from the taxi stand at MGM. VIP tickets include valet parking at the Opera House.
