The Milwaukee Brewers decided to place Ryan Braun on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to last Saturday.

Braun has a strained oblique and hasn't played since Sunday. Originally, the team thought his injury was the intercostal muscle but an MRI report showed the oblique strain.

Already thin at outfield, the Brewers will get Logan Schafer back from the disabled list. Schafer will play right field until Braun returns which is expected to be May 12.

Elian Herrera and Schafer have seen action in right field this season. Now, the Brewers have brought up Caleb Gindl from class AAA Nashville.

The batting production of the Brewers three and four hitters will struggle with Braun out. Braun was hitting .318 with six homers before his injury. At cleanup hitter, Aramis Ramirez is on a 0-for-28 streak without a hit, so the other Brewer hitters will have to step it up.
