On July 11, it was announced via a press release that Valory Music Company country recording artist Brantley Gilbert has another career milestone to celebrate. His third studio album, "Just As I Am," has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), for selling over 500,000 units.
His album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Albums charts, and he subsequently scored the third highest album debut of the year for selling over 212,000 copies during his first week. The lead single from his album, "Bottoms Up" has reached the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, as well as the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts, and it has been certified platinum, for sales of over one million units. The single's music video has been quite the viral excess, especially after surpassing 22 million views.
Gilbert's follow-up single, "Small Town Throwdown" is already a Top 20 hit on country radio, and it is a collaboration with fellow country singers and label-mates Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett.
Earlier this week, Gilbert revealed dates and opening acts for the second leg of his "Let It Ride Tour," which is expected to kick off on September 19 in Austin, Texas. It will feature such opening acts as Aaron Lewis (who is best known for his musical work as the lead singer and rhythm guitar player of the rock band Staind), as well as country singers Tyler Farr and Chase Bryant.
A Georgia native, Gilbert was honored as the Academy of Country Music's (ACM) "New Male Artist" last year. Three of his songs have peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Country charts including "Country Must Be Country Wide," "Bottoms Up" and "You Don't Know Her Like I Do."
