It was reported by Associated Press on March 7, 2013 that the duo Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were in the wine making business. The duo Jolie-Pitt has bottled their wine with Marc Perrin.
With the Jolie-Pitt name on the bottle this rose wine is not like any regular bottle of wine, it is set apart from other fruit of Provence grape harvest.
The Miraval Rose 2012 was produced at a French southern estate called Chateau Miraval. Chateau Miraval is owned by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Over the last couple of years the two have become known as Brangelina.
Miraval Rose is the first vintage stamped wine by Jolie-Pitt with vintner Marc Perrin. The couple and Perrin have embarked on this wine making journey since the Jolie-Pitt and Perrin have a passion for wine.
The back of Miraval Rose bottle proudly states “bottled by Jolie-Pitt and Perrin”.
According to a spokesman for Perrin the first 6,000 bottles went on sale online on Thursday and were sold out within five hours of going on sale.
The bottles sold for 105 euros which is $139 US for a case that contains six bottles. The wine is in a bottom heavy champagne bottle style.
Miraval Rose is set to go on sale to restaurants and wholesalers later this month. There were no comments from Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt publicist regarding their new venture.
