He is from a famous musical family in New Orleans. Branford Marsalis continues to push the envelope of music boundaries in his own way. The three time Grammy Award winner will bring his talents to the Haugh Performing Arts Center at Citrus College on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at 2pm. Branford Marsalis has recorded with some of the biggest names in jazz and popular music including: Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, Art Blakey and Sonny Rollins. He has also played on songs of pop artists such as Sting, the Grateful Dead and Bruce Hornsby. Marsalis was also the music director on the Jay Leno show for a couple of years in the 1990's. This show will celebrate the lives, times and music of female songwriters of the Tin Pan Alley days from Alberta Hunter to Peggy Lee.
