Brandy was stuck performing in an empty stadium in South Africa. The New York Daily News reports on Aug. 22 that Brandy stopped the concert and walked off the stage. The singer was faced with an estimated crowd of 40 people in the 90,000-seat stadium.
Brandy allegedly ended her performance early after seeing the empty FNB Stadium in Soweto. She was scheduled to sing the finale at the Nelson Mandela Sports and Cultural day music concert. However, the audience left before she took the stage, and about 40 people remained in their seats. Brandy sang two songs before leaving the concert.
The 34-year-old’s representatives deny that she walked off the stage without completing her performance. They claim she was only scheduled to perform a couple of songs and knew it would be the finale for the Nelson Mandela Sports and Cultural day.
Brandy’s finale was meant to be a surprise act at the conclusion of the concert. However, it seems the audience left the 90,000-seat stadium before they realized she was going to perform. One of the few remaining audience members posted on Twitter and revealed Brandy was singing with the lights on in the empty stadium. He added she was sulking and left after two songs, but it was late and no one knew she was scheduled to sing.
Brandy has not mentioned the concert on her own Twitter account or other social media networks. Instead, the 34-year-old has been promoting her next performance in Atlanta and discussing the Pure Heat Vision Community Festival.
