Jenkins currently resides in Austin, but can be found touring all over, including frequent trips to the Dallas area. If Jenkins happens to be in your area, do not miss him. His music sounds awesome recorded but, his live shows bring something extra to each song.

On January 15th, he played at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, followed by a January 22nd at Hank's in McKinney.

For me, Brandon Jenkins has a sound that encompasses a little bit of Lynard Skynard, Trace Adkins, Hank Williams, Jr., Mississippi John Hurt, Howlin’ Wolf, and something else that I cannot quite place yet. Then there is a whole lot of something that makes him his own.

Not only does Jenkins’ sound grasp hold of you but his songs will pull you into becoming a huge fan, if you aren't already. This is evident at the shows, when the entire crowd will sing along with almost all of the songs, remaining quiet only during the new songs and then cheering loudly at the end of those. It is impossible to stand there watching Brandon Jenkins and not feel the energy of each song.

Many artists have a problem with each of their songs sounding so similar to the others, but Jenkins’ is not one of those artists. Each song has its own personality and story. From the fast upbeat songs to the slower ballads, every song will take you on its own journey and lets you know exactly what its emotions and feelings are meant to be.

Brandon Jenkins will be back in Dallas soon, so check out his schedule below and be sure to visit him on MySpace and his website for more up to date information.

There are new singers popping up on the Texas Country scene all the time. Some are really good and some, not so much. So be sure to keep checking back to read the opinions of this examiner on those artists that fall in the Texas Country genre.
