Brandon Jacobs rumors are as murky as ever for the New York Giants. In fact, new Jacobs rumors from Sunday morning (Oct. 27) have the running back traveling with the team to play the Philadelphia Eagles. It was back on Friday evening (Oct. 25), when a report from NBC stated that it would be Peyton Hillis getting a majority of the carries at running back. That could still be the case, but the Giants haven't ruled out their injured tailback from playing in Week 8.
This is one of those instances where fantasy football owners might have to wait until kickoff on Sunday just to find out if a player will even be active. In regard to this particular player, the news should only grab the attention of owners in really deep leagues. If he can take the field the Giants are going to put him out there, but whether he will actually have a positive impact on the game is another question entirely.
Heading into the Week 8 New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles game, most fantasy football owners will only want to pay attention to the Brandon Jacobs rumors if they are planning to lean on Peyton Hillis. Hillis is himself a running back that should only be used in desperate situations, but it's certainly possible that he could find himself in red zone situations against the Eagles. If he is available he could be an interesting spot start, but Hillis still comes with a lot of risk.
