- About Pomegranates
Cheesecake is one of life's joys. There are endless recipes and flavor combinations. Plain New York Style cheesecake is the classic. However it is never as exciting on it's own as with a fabulous sauce. This recipe for Brandied harvest fruit makes the most of autumn's bounty and presents a stunning contrast to the cream colored slice of decadence on the plate. It is simply delicious!
- 1/2 cup Apple Brandy, Calvados or Pomegranate Juice
- 1/4 cup Firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tbsp Harvest Fruit Dip Mix
- 3 cups Fresh Cranberries
- 3 medium Unpeeled apples -cored and sliced and cut - in half
- 2 medium Unpeeled pears -cored and sliced and cut - in half
- 1/4 cup Pomegranate Relish
Combine brandy, brown sugar and Harvest Fruit seasoning, mix well. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat stirring constantly. In large bowl combine cranberries, apples and pears; mix well. Pour hot brandy mixture over fruit; mix gently. Stir in relish. Cover; store in refrigerator 8 to 10 hours or overnight stirring occasionally.
Spoon over plain New York Style Cheesecake. This recipe Makes 8 1-cup servings. If you are planning to make it for holiday gifts this will make 8 1/2 pint jarred gifts.
