Brandi Glanville has made a name for herself on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and as a published author of two best-selling books. Now it seems that her ex-husband Eddie Cibrian wants the former model to pay child support.
On Tuesday, Feb. 18 Glanville took to Twitter to tell fans all about her latest battle with her ex-husband, who is now married to LeAnn Rimes. Cibrian and Rimes purchased a $3 million home in the Hidden Hills neighborhood last year while Glanville lives in much smaller home off Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills.
Brandi Glanville tweeted:
“Im not taking cheap shots at my ex in my new book cuz its all true,&now mr fancy new cars&house man is asking ME for child support!Uknownada”
Though LeAnn Rimes may have an estimated net worth of $20 million, by the laws of most states, that does not excuse a parent from paying child support. If one parent’s income is greater than the other’s than the parent pays child support. The same would be true if the roles were reversed and Brandi was married to a wealthy man and Cibrian was earning more money than Glanville. The income of the spouse of your ex-husband or wife does not matter when calculating child support obligations.
In a divorce, custody agreements also are a factor in the determination of child support. If one parent has the children living with them more often than the other parent, than the parent who has the children in their care the majority of the time is owed child support.
