Brand spotlight - Karmaloop

Fall is upon us readers. As I prep my daughter to get ready for her new school year, I find it funny that I often put off prepping myself for the change in weather. Fall is by far one of my favorite seasons and it is another great opportunity to edit and prep our closets for transition. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to pick the brain of buyer and stylist for Karmaloop.com - Jasmin Imani about trends, editing and styling tips!

Karmaloop is a cultural force in the industry that's setting itself apart from the typical fashion industry "drones" as they call them. The brand started in the basement of the owner's parent's house and it flourished despite naysayers! When it first started, Karmaloop set out to create a lifestyle brand. Yet, it was something that was more than just an e-commerce site but also a community of style and a full-fledged media powerhouse! The brand wanted to offer their customers more than the typical bland style - it was and still is all about individuality! Now, that's what I call a cultural revolution. So, when I had the opportunity to hear more about it from Jasmin Imani, I was on board!

She has some great tips for all you readers to prepare your closet for the change in the season. I definitely have to agree on the leather moto and flat boots for the fall. They're becoming a staple that can be dressed up or down during the colder days. I also am adoring their funky new tennis shoes in bright colors and cut out wedge styles. Read on for the interview! And make sure you check out The Culture Studio for fall selects & the full interview!

TCS: What are the top 3 trends women should look out for this back to school/fall season?

KL: Plaid pants, jewel tone metallics, gold, leather, lots of texture but on minimal pieces

TCS: What are 5 must have pieces every woman should have in her closet?

KL: Black flat boots, leather motor jacket, white blouse, perfect fit pair of denim, and red pumps

TCS: When it comes to trends, where should readers splurge vs. save when trying new things?

KL: I think it's good to splurge on key pieces such as a jacket, shoes, and bags. These are also items you can save on but if you’re putting some money into your wardrobe these would be the pieces.
