Kadan Brady scored a career-high 19 points as Tulsa beat North Texas 79-63 Wednesday night in Denton, Texas.
The Healdton (Okla.) junior actually led a quartet of double-digit scorers. Ashley Clark, Mariah Turner and Kelsee Grovey respectively finished with 15, 14 and 13 points.
"I think the only way you beat teams is to have balanced scoring like that," Tulsa coach Matilda Mossman said. "Kadan led us early on and all the other players stepped up too. We had six players right there in the double figure area and that lets you score a lot of points and doesn't allow opponents to focus on just one person."
The Golden Hurricane (10-7 overall, 4-2 in Conference USA) led 36-32 at halftime and stretched the advantage to as much as 18 points against the Mean Green.
North Texas (8-12, 2-5) was led by Alexis Hyder’s 14 points. Briesha Wynn also had 13 and Acheil Tac scored 12 for UNT.
TU will host 25th-ranked Middle Tennessee Saturday at the Reynolds Center. That game will tip off at 12:30 p.m.
