Bradley Cooper, 39, will be making a return to Broadway starring in 'The Elephant Man' according to a report from News Talk released Wednesday morning (Jan. 22).

Cooper will take on the role of disfigured John Merrick, a role he previously played in 2012 at the Williamsburg Theatre Festival in Massachusetts. This will be Cooper's first return to Broadway since 2006 when he starred opposite Julia Roberts and Paul Rudd in 'Three Days of Rain'.

The role of Merrick takes the disfigured man as he travels in a freak show throughout the United Kingdom before he is rescued.

'The Elephant Man' last appeared on Broadway in 2002 and the role was played by Billy Cruddup, who was nominated for a Tony for his role.

So far there has been no announcement as to who else will be starring along with Cooper in the Broadway production.

Cooper's last big hit was in the movie 'Silver Linings Playbook' where he starred alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Di Niro, and Jacki Weaver.
