The film, “Cycle of Lies” has been in the works since cyclist Lance Armstrong came forth with the truth about his use of steroids. Since that time, an email passed from Bradley Cooper to film director J.J. Abrams stating that Cooper would be interested in playing the role of Lance Armstrong in the film “Cycle of Lies.”
Paramount Pictures and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions picked up the rights to Juliet Macur’s upcoming book “Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong.” This got the ball rolling for the film’s production process.
J.J. Abrams was asked about Cooper’s interest in taking on the role of Armstrong in the film;
Cooper sent me an email and we’ve been talking.
Bradley Cooper commented on the project during his appearance on BBC News on January 22.
I would be interested in playing Armstrong. I think he’s fascinating. What a fascinating character.
At this time, no production schedule has been released.
