Bradley Cooper has some explaining to do. The 38-year-old actor once said that he wouldn’t date 22-year-old Jennifer Lawrence because he’s old enough to be her father, but according to a March 19 report by Yahoo! omg!, he’s now dating a 20-year-old model named Suki Waterhouse.
Brad’s last serious girlfriend was 34-year-old Zoe Saldana. Since the gorgeous actress starred in super-successful movies like “Avatar” and “Star Trek,” she obviously wasn’t dating Brad because of his status as an actor. Zoe didn’t need a famous boyfriend to help raise her profile, but Suki is a different story.
Suki Waterhouse looks like the lovechild of Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lawrence, which is a bit bizarre since Jen and Taylor have both been attached to Brad in tabloid rumors. A source describes Suki as “up and coming in the fashion world,” and she’s also an aspiring actress and musician. So it’s very possible that she’s only dating Bradley because he could make her a household name or help her score movie roles. Dating an older actor certainly worked for Victoria’s Secret model Erin Heatherton, who became a tabloid fixture during her fling with Leonardo Dicaprio. Bradley Cooper and Leo are now BFFs, and since Leo is known for being a serial model dater, perhaps he used one of his connections to hook Brad up with Suki.
So what if Suki is just using Brad for his fame? Perhaps the actor simply doesn’t care and is just trying to enjoy the spoils of being named the sexiest man alive and snagging an Oscar nomination for “Silver Linings Playbook.” He just got out of a serious relationship, so he might not be looking for love right now.
If he’s not looking for something serious, this might be why he changed his tune about dating girls who are young enough to be his daughter. It might sicken some that he’s almost two decades older than Suki, but others will find hope in this hookup -- there are a lot of Jennifer Lawrence fans out there who actually think that she and Brad would make a cute couple. Jen and Brad are set to work together again, so who knows? Maybe he’ll look at his costar differently now that his age requirement for dating has been drastically lowered.
