Bradlee Dean is still a long way away from out-crazying his rival's claim that Obama was going to set off a nuke in Washington D.C., but he's certainly moving in the right direction.
Apparently upset with constantly being derided as a bigot, Dean said over the weekend on his Sons of Liberty radio show that the word "racism" was created by "that devil Trotsky."
Speaking to his wife and co-host, Stephanie Dean (filling in for his former co-host, who, along with his entire staff, recently quit), Dean took issue with how a news article called him "anti-gay" instead of "pro-family."
Which, by the way, is the kind of politically correct nonsense conservatives usually complain about liberals indulging in.
From here, Dean latched onto an urban legend that Leon Trotsky coined the term "racism" in order to "browbeat dissenters."
"So what they do is they would just belittle them — by the way, this is what you're seeing across America today, that is communism from A-Z and it was contrived directly from that devil Trotsky," said Dean.
Dean also claimed that Trotsky was a propagandist for Joseph Stalin, even though Trotsky was a fierce critic of Stalin, who ultimately had him killed with an axe.
More importantly, Dean is overlooking two very crucial facts:
- Even if Trotsky had given it name, the practice existed centuries before then.
- Even if Trotsky had invented the term, that wouldn't make Dean any less of a bigot.
If being called "anti-gay" really causes Dean to get so weepy, maybe he should have thought about that before he applauded the idea of homosexuals being murdered.
