October brings cooler weather and the heart of the district schedule for high school football in Sarasota and Manatee counties. A key matchup this Friday features two improving football programs as the Braden River Pirates take on the Sarasota Sailors at Ihrig Field at Sarasota High School in a district game.
Braden River (2-2) comes off a tough 20-18 loss at home last week to the Booker Tornadoes. The Pirates have dropped two straight games including a district loss to Lakewood Ranch. It’s a virtual must win for Braden River this week to qualify for the post-season.
Sarasota (2-2) is coming off a bye week and two straight losses including a 66-7 blowout to the Manatee Hurricanes. This is the first district game of the season for the Sailors.
Four games in Sarasota and Bradenton are scheduled to be broadcast. Outlets and announcers are listed below.
