Actor Brad Pitt, father of six celebrity kids with actress Angelina Jolie, has been named the Top Money-Making Star of 2011 in an annual entertainment news survey where questions were answered strictly by local movie theater owners from around the country. The big bosses at an organization called the Quigley Publishing Company asks theater owners and film buyers to vote every year in a poll that eventually lists (in the movie theater owners opinions) their top 10 box office generators for the year. The 2011 year exhibitors credited actor Brad Pitt with the eventual honor. They collectively decided Brad Pitt moves brought in more movie goers than any other celebrity.

So what made daddy Brad the big-ticket winner of the year when it came time to see films? Bottom line, the year was a successful one for him because he released three new films. Pitt was the star of “Moneyball” and “The Tree of Life”. He was also one of the famous faces who lent their voices to the family movie, the animated “Happy Feet Two”. That film also featured the voice of Robin Williams.

As for other celebrity friends of Brad Pitt who also made the list, SF Gate revealed, "Coming in at number two was Pitt’s pal George Clooney for both “The Ides of March” and “The Descendants”.

According to the entertainment news source, "Last year’s winner, Johnny Depp, fell to third with “The Rum Diary”, “Rango” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”.

Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt worked together on the television series 21 Jump Street in their younger years. George Clooney and Brad Pitt have been best friends for years and are world-famous for their roles in "Ocean's Eleven", "Ocean's Twelve", and "Ocean's Thirteen".
